Production Planner

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of Production Planner include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties of the Job:

  • Production liaison to sales for all scheduling and production issues that effect delivery dates to the customer.
  • Ensure that all shop employees are properly logging in and out of jobs.
  • Report to Manufacturing and Accounting all non compliance issues and anomalies as it relates to employee time cards
  • Expedite any projects on the production floor where necessary.
  • Continually prioritize work centers via the company system and verbal communication with production leads.
  • Maintain accurate work orders and ensure that all projects on the production floor are accompanied by work orders. Work orders must reflect the work centers required for each job.
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders effectively to work in process.
  • Work with Quality Control and Production Leads in regard to rework and rejected product in order to quickly act on any potentially late projects.
  • Report to Director of Manufacturing any equipment that is inoperable or in need of maintenance.
  • Work with Engineering in regard to any issues that may arise with product on the production floor.
  • Communicate to purchasing any material issues that may arise through the course of production.
  • Maintain Planned Material Requirements report on a daily basis to ensure that manufacturing remains on schedule.
  • Maintain company MRP system and production schedule so information remains accurate and complete.
  • Release jobs to the production floor to fulfill all sales order requirements.
  • Support production through the manufacturing process as required.
  • Adherence to Microform Precision policies and procedures.
  • Cross train with other positions as necessary in order to provide a seamless transition when one member is out.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and make off-site customer visits as required.

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of college
  • Minimum 1 years experience in manufacturing
