Waterjet Cutting
Microform Precision, LLC uses a Bystronic Waterjet for cost effective accurate cutting of custom designs in a wide range of materials.
The Abrasive Waterjet can cut almost any material up to 7" thick.
Typical lead time for Waterjet cutting is only 3 to 5 days with a customer supplied .dxf file.
The Waterjet has a 13' x 7' cutting bed that allows for nesting of multiple parts on one sheet of material.
In addition to Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum we can also cut:
- Copper
- Brass
- Composite
- Plastic
- Gasket Material
- Etc.
- Highly flexible method of cutting intricate designs
- Quick response to change due to very little setup time required
- The Waterjet uses 2 cutting heads and requires no additional special tooling
- Minimal impact on the environment
- Accuracy to within +-0.003"
- Leaves a clean cut edge to eliminate secondary finishing operations
- Very fine cut width
- The Waterjet applies absolutely no thermal stress to the part being cut
- The Waterjet equipment creates an accurate and repeatable manufacturing process. This process is created by cutting parts to pre-programmed specifications in a digital file of the part to be cut.
- Scrap material and material costs kept to a minimum as multiple parts can be nested on large sheets.
- No mechanical stress placed on the part. The mechanical portion of the cutting tip never touches the part. The cutting is done by adding an abrasive to the high pressure stream of water created by the machine.
